The Peña Flamenca de Estepona is the original social flamenco club in the centre of Estepona town.
The Peña is one of about 50 affiliated clubs in the province of Malaga.
The club’s building is unremarkable, on Fuerzas Amardas Square and inside is a 200-square-foot lounge that was renovated in 2015 when the stage was moved to a more practical position. The lounge seats about 150 people at tables. There are no pillars obstructing the view. The lounge is air-conditioned.
La Peña Flamenca de Estepona was founded in 1973, Don Diego Navarro Fernández was the first president. The artists who have performed at the club over the years include Antonio Suárez and Antonio Núñez “Chocolate”, José Merce, Aurora Vargas, José de la Tomasa, Paco Toronjo, Chano Lobato, Daniel Casares and Elisa Gonzalez.
