Between 23 and 24 June, the mustaches of San Juan (the júas) are burned, dolls that various local associations make and that ridicule well-known local and national characters, and that are destined to be burned at the stake. On the night of the 23rd, the match is held and only the winner is saved from burning, only until the next night. The people of Estepona gather on the beach at midnight to get wet feet and touch the water, which according to tradition gives happiness all year round.
